Hello

Image
Freshly Made Sketches 141 challenge was the inspiration behind this card. I had paper from Kaisercraft that I wanted to use so that's where I started. Instead of cutting small pieces and placing them on the card, I cut one large background piece and layered black strips for the cross-sections. Supplies Stamps-Inkadinkado, Hero Arts (Everyday Sayings) Inks-Tim Holtz Distress (Mowed Lawn, Peacock Feather), Versafine (Onyx Black) Patterned Paper-Kaisercraft (Afresh)

Thoughts Are With You

Began this card with the Retro Sketch and added a script sentiment for this simple Thinking of You. I used the papers from the Carta Bella Traditions 6x6 paper pad. I'm not quite sure what happened to the background color but in person it's much closer to the bermuda bay in the challenge. Start with Whee!

Image
Colour Me 16 Deconstructed Sketch 147 This sketch looked like a challenge to me. First, I made a template from cardstock to make sure I had a match for the sketch. I traced each piece on the patterned paper and cut them out. The center image is a Pure Innocence stamp from My Favorite Things called Start Each Day with Whee!. Her dress was paper pieced with matching paper from part of the background. A prima flower with a button center and faux stitching finished the card.

Just for You

MOJO Monday 341 Thought I'd give this week's sketch a try today. I'm not so sure I like the finished card but I decided to post it anyways. I think I might try this one again with a mix of patterned papers. Since one of the challenge on the Verve blog this month was to use chevrons, I embossed the green cardstock with a herringbone pattern which looks similar to chevrons. Supplies: Stamp: Verve (purely sentimental) Ink: ColorBox (cranberry) Dies: MFT (LJD Bitty Banners), Spellbinders (circles) Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug (herringbone) Paper: Frances Meyer (passionnant), Pink Paislee (365 degrees paper pad) Trim
