About Me

Using bits and pieces of paper I have created many cards and scrapbook pages to share with my family and friends. Occasionally, I have taught classes in scrapbooking and was a Design Team Leader at a local store. Lately, I have been focusing on creating cards for various challenges.

Retro Sketches #154

I really liked this card when I finished it today. I'm always being asked for birthday cards for boys so I used the sketch from Retro Sketches as my starting point for this one. The skateboarder has been in my collection for quite a while and I knew that it would be perfect. I paired the stamp with paper from the Echo Park Scoot 6x6 paper pad and created this fun card.

Cardstock - MFT (Nightshift Blue, Blu Raspberry, Gumdrop Green, Orange Fizz)
Patterned Paper - Echo Park (Scoot paper pad)
Ink - Versafine(Onyx Black)
Stamp - Stampendous ( Skateboard Kiddo)
Dies - MFT (Mix & Match Banners)
Colored Pencils
Inside Sentiment - Sweet N Sassy (Birthday Innies)

Merry Monday #147 and CAS(E) this Sketch #111

Today's card is based on this sketch by CAS(E) this Sketch and features stars for the Merry Monday Challenge. I wanted a card that was bright and colorful so I started with the paper from Recollections that I've been holding in my stash. The sentiment stamp is from Inkadinkado set called Warm Holiday Wishes and it has stars mixed throughout the lettering. The red and green stars in the lower corner are affixed with foam adhesive to give some dimension.

Stamp - Inkadinkado (Warm Holiday Wishes)
Ink - ColorBox (Cranberry)
Paper - Recollections
Dies - MFT (Layered Label Die)
Star Punches
White Brad

Since I didn't make the deadline for Kraftin' Kimmie's Sat. Challenge 266 Peace & Love, I'm going to enter it into this week's Anything Goes 268 folder. It just so happens that it also works for the theme challenge at The Pink Elephant this week. The theme was "Be My Valentine". The mix of pink and turquoise is so cheery. Thanks for looking.

From the Heart Challenge #95

For the Birds Christmas Card
I've decided to make another Christmas card for this challenge. I like to have a variety to choose from when Christmastime comes around so I thought making them throughout the year would help. I chose one of the cute snowman images at From the Heart to make this card. The twist was to use a black base which worked very well with these papers from the Magic of the Season paper pack by Paper Studio.
