Birdbrain Birthday

Image
I adapted this sketch to fit an A2 card, chose the birdbrain image, and some bright colorful papers from Scenic Route. I colored the bird as if he were a parrot. I can think of a couple of people that would love to get this birthday card! Thanks for looking. Supplies: Stamps: FTHS (birdbrain balloon), Hero Arts (petite messages) Ink: Versafine(onyx black) Paper: Scenic Route (Providence, Franklin Street, Ashville)

Rain or Shine

Image
This card began with the challenge from Sassy Cheryl to use flowers or showers. I picked Lulu and her little froggie friend as the subject since they are so cute with their umbrella and raingear. Then I worked with the sketch at Unscripted Sketches. Chose papers from MME Happy Day paper pack. I added diamond glaze to the raindrops to give them dimension and a few raindots from Cloud 9 in the upper corner. Supplies: Stamp: Kraftin'Kimmie (lulu and friends) Digi: By Lori Designs (umbrella sentiments) Ink: Versafine (onyx black) Paper: MME (happy day paper pack) Cdstk: Bazzill Raindots: Cloud 9 Other: Diamond Glaze, Colored Pencils

Start with Whee!

Image
Colour Me 16 Deconstructed Sketch 147 This sketch looked like a challenge to me. First, I made a template from cardstock to make sure I had a match for the sketch. I traced each piece on the patterned paper and cut them out. The center image is a Pure Innocence stamp from My Favorite Things called Start Each Day with Whee!. Her dress was paper pieced with matching paper from part of the background. A prima flower with a button center and faux stitching finished the card.

Just for You

MOJO Monday 341 Thought I'd give this week's sketch a try today. I'm not so sure I like the finished card but I decided to post it anyways. I think I might try this one again with a mix of patterned papers. Since one of the challenge on the Verve blog this month was to use chevrons, I embossed the green cardstock with a herringbone pattern which looks similar to chevrons. Supplies: Stamp: Verve (purely sentimental) Ink: ColorBox (cranberry) Dies: MFT (LJD Bitty Banners), Spellbinders (circles) Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug (herringbone) Paper: Frances Meyer (passionnant), Pink Paislee (365 degrees paper pad) Trim

Thanks in Bloom

A Little Crabby Get Well

Image
Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 213 Thought it would be fun to make a Get Well card using this cute crab since most of us are a little crabby when we're not feeling well. Used bright colors for a little cheer. The sketch was to make a long skinny card and I must admit that I've never made one this size before. The final card is 3 1/2 x 5 1/2.
